MP3.com

MP3.com was sold to CNET (read it here) and all of the music content will be destroyed. I think this leaves a big hole for someone to fill. Its not clear that the existing services (itunes, music match, etc) have any interest in including artists that are not signed with a label. The internet will be a boon to unsigned talent, as soon as someone picks up on this market failure. I'm waiting...
